Poppets Coffee and Tea on Dorothy Lane is Kettering’s cozy “living room” a welcoming neighborhood cafe, tea shop, and coffee roaster designed as a third space to relax, work, and connect. Housed in a reimagined mid-century building at 1006 E. Dorothy Lane, the space blends historic charm with warm, modern touches. As local coffee roasters, we serve specialty coffee roasted in-house in Dayton, offer more than fifty flavored coffees, and provide one of the Midwest’s largest selections of loose-leaf tea by the cup, pot, or to take home. With comfortable seating, friendly staff, local artisan products throughout the shop, and freshly roasted coffee as our cornerstone, Poppets invites every character to feel at home.

First time at Poppets and expect to be back. Staff friendly and helped me pick a coffee. Fantastic pastry selection, bought more than I should have but no regrets. Nice, clean environment. Roomy chairs for these wide hips. Music playing in the background. A relaxing place to come sit and spend some you-time or chat with a friend.

Stopped in Sunday morning. (Father’s Day!) Staff were very friendly and ready to help me find exactly what I was wanting to try. I had a delicious London fog and a blueberry muffin. The selection of teas, coffees, and beverage accessories was great. There’s a table to weigh your own tea, a variety of pastries packaged to go, oversized chews and checkers boards, a lovely Affirmation Station, and even a take-a-plant/leave-a-plant shelf that I can’t wait to add to!
